“I guess some of you know how it feels to be misunderstood
most of the time. You think people know who you really are, but so
many times you get disappointed when you notice they don't really
know you at all. I've experienced this, and I know that it really
makes you feel like you just don’t fit in anywhere.
All through my teenage years I never seemed to belong to any group
of people. To escape my social problems I picked up two hobbies: bird
watching and song writing. Into my songs I could pour out all my sadness,
all my fears and the heartache of longing for ”somebody to call
my own”. Hardly anyone took my music seriously.
When I met Jukka, and later the other guys from Frail, I knew we had
something great going on. I loved the way they played my songs and
how they shared my passion to make rock music that sounds big and
heavy but still had a strong emotional side to it. Every song I write
usually tells about a relationship, it might be about a lost friend,
a girlfriend or even my relationship with God. While recording our
first album ”Pieces of Silence”, I enjoyed hearing in
the studio how the songs I’d written sitting on my bed after
midnight had became real music!
But the thing I love the most is performing live, that is truly something
I love with all my heart. When I'm playing and singing my songs for
the people in the audience, I feel the social gap between me and other
people disappears for a moment. On stage I feel I can freely be the
person I was created to be!" |
